In Loving Memory of Adam Edward Russas
The Friends of Adam Fund will be participating in the "Campfires for Cancer" event that will be held on June 25th at Johnston Memorial Park. This is a one day event to help fight cancer in children. The purpose is to first raise awareness of cancer in the community and second to raise money to support the programs and services of the Hasbro Children's Hospital Hematology/Oncology Division.
The Campfire event will feature a DJ, face painting and a temporary tattoo stand, kickball, a clown with magic tricks, musical chairs for the children, a make-your-own-sundae event, and three-legged races. At 7:30 pm a campfire will be set around the Johnston Memorial Pond and burn until 11pm. A live band located on the island will provide music for the night while participants sit or stroll on the walking track.
We will light our campfire in loving memory of my nephew Adam Edward Russas who would have been 17 years old this coming June 7th.
He left us on July 14, 1999 shortly after his 5th birthday after a 6-month battle from a brain tumor. This event will be the first Friends of Adam event of 2011 that will raise money for Hasbro Children's Hospital. In the fall our 9th Annual Mada Cup Golf Tournament will be held at Gloucester Country Club. We also recently completed a 25-mile bike ride for The Brain Tumor Society in MA. Our 4 person team raised $3,000.00. For more information about the Friends of Adam Fund, please visit madacup.com.
We ask for your generous donation to help support The Friends of Adam Fund and Hasbro Children's Hospital through this "Campfires for Cancer" event. Not a day goes by without Adam's family and friends remembering the courage he showed throughout his illness and that bright, beautiful smile during those days. His spirit lives on in the people who knew him best. We thank you in advance for your generous contribution.
** Please note that Mada Visions will appear on your credit card statement for this donation.
Sincerely,
Diana Russas and The Friends of Adam Fund
